Parti politik kaum China Malaysia mempunyai sejarah sejak sebelum tahun kemerdekaan Malaysia. MCA ditubuh pada 1946. Sebuah buku "Chinese politics in Malaysia: A history of the MCA" oleh Heng Pek Khoon terbitan tahun1988. Buku tersebut berasas dari tesis phd soas Heng pada 1984.
