Selepas Wazir Ahmed Pasya tokoh yang mengganti beliau adalah Kara Mustafa Pasya. Beliau merupakan tokoh yang agresif dalam usaha meluas empayar Ottoman ke wilayah Eropah. Sebagaimana wazir Ahmed Pasya, Kara Mustafa Pasya juga berkhidmat semasa period Mehmed IV (r.1648-87).
