Bandingan Penulisan Swettenham, Clifford dan Mahathir

 Banyak pegawai British yang pernah bertugas di Malaya menulis tentang bermacam hal. Antara mereka adalah Frank Swettenham dan Hugh Clifford yang masing-masing pernah bertugas di Selangor dan Pahang. Ada sebuah tesis UM yang mengkaji mengenai corak penulisan kedua tokoh British tersebut dan membandingnya dengan kandungan buku Malay Dilemma.

Tesis bertajuk "The Malay in an emergent modernity: a reading of the fiction of Sweettenham and Clifford and Mahathir Mohamad the Malay Dilemma". Tesis oleh Mohamad Rashidi Pakri tahun 2004. [source: studets repo - link].
