Richard Bell - Qur'anic Translation

Membaca bab 1 buku sirry menemukan kita dengan berbagai rujukan yang terdiri dari penerbitan oleh ramai akademia. Salah satunya adalah buku tulisan Richard Bell 'The origin of Islam in its Christian environment' terbitan asal tahun 1926. Diulang terbit oleh Routledge tahun 1968.

Satu lagi buku beliau adalah 'The Qur'an translated with a critical re-arrangement of the Surahs. Terbitan Edinburgh Uni Press 1937-39.

Bell’s translation did not gain much popularity, mainly due to the fact the translation is more preoccupied with the origins of the Quran in Christianity and theories about what Muslims did to the text of the Quran, and in the process neglected the Quran Text itself.
